In order to rent a car on the Island, you will need to have your driver's license and an accepted credit card available. In order to drive on the Island, you will have to obtain a temporary driver's license, and this is available at the car rental office.

A temporary driving licence is required; this can be obtained at the airport, at the police station, or at the car rental office for a small amount, and it is valid for three months. You will need to bring your driver's license in order to obtain this temporary license.
Driving laws and culture on St. Lucia:
Driving is on the left-hand side as in Britain. Outside of Castries, there are few vehicles on the road. It is always a good idea to be careful and watch out for differences in driving. Take special care when driving on the back roads, and watch the speed limits.
Parking on St. Lucia:
Parking in Castries is limited, and you will probably have to pay in order to find a place to park. You can park in car parks, parking garages, or along the street, but make sure you've not parked in a restricted area. Tickets will be issued for vehicles parked in 'no parking zones.'
